The Regional Training Centre for Combating Human Trafficking at the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) organised an introductory lecture for recruitment offices, transaction clearance offices, and supply agencies to raise awareness about combating human trafficking.
The session targeted agencies that serve as a key source of domestic workers and private sector employees from various nationalities. It aimed to educate participants on illegal and unethical practices, while reinforcing the importance of protecting human rights and preserving workers’ dignity.
The virtual workshop was attended by representatives from 53 offices and agencies. It was delivered by certified trainers from the Regional Training Centre and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Badi Jbeil and Ms. Fatima Al Ghatam.
The trainers presented an overview of key concepts related to human trafficking, indicators of suspected cases, and the proper procedures for handling such situations.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen awareness, promote ethical practices, and ensure the safety and protection of expatriate workers in the Kingdom.
