Manama: The Royal Guard claimed a historic fifth consecutive title at the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force Cup, defeating the Royal Bahraini Naval Force in a dramatic penalty shootout following a 1–1 draw in regulation time.

The decisive match was staged in Manama at the Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium, where both sides exchanged goals before the Royal Guard prevailed 5–2 from the spot to secure the trophy.

The presentation ceremony was led by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Football Association, who represented the Commander-in-Chief in handing over the cup and medals.

Individual honours were shared among standout performers, with Moayed Al Desooqe named best player, Ziad Bassil finishing as top scorer, and Hassan Ali Khaleef recognised as the tournament’s best goalkeeper.

The competition was organised by the Military Sports Union in cooperation with the Bahrain Defence Force, and also featured a prize draw in which four cars were awarded to participants.

With this latest success, the Royal Guard have reinforced their dominance in the annual BDF showcase, extending an unbeaten run in the final and underlining their status as the most successful side in the history of the tournament.
