Bahrain signs historic deal to introduce IB in government schools
The Ministry of Education has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in Bahrain’s government schools for the first time.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, and Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of the IBO. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Isa Town, attended by senior officials from various education sectors, representatives of public and private schools across Bahrain, and a delegation of specialists from the IBO.
On the occasion, the Minister expressed his deepest gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continuous support and commitment to advancing the Kingdom’s educational journey.
