Rush

As Ramadan approaches, tailoring shops across Bahrain begin witnessing one of their busiest seasons of the year. For many families, preparing an Eid thobe is not a last minute errand but a cherished tradition. Yet every year, customers are surprised to discover that bookings have already closed before they have even selected their fabric.

Most men’s tailoring shops across the Kingdom close their Eid order lists either shortly before Ramadan or within its first days. Tailors explain that early closure allows them sufficient time to complete measurements, stitching and fittings to ensure delivery before Eid.

Timing

Tailors consistently advise customers to place their orders well before mid-Shaaban. Waiting until Ramadan often means encountering fully booked schedules and limited options. During the holy month, official working hours are reduced, although many shops extend their evening openings after Iftar. Despite longer night hours, production capacity remains restricted due to intense demand.

During a recent tour of men’s tailoring shops, fabric prices ranged between BD15 and BD20 for standard materials. Higher quality fabrics, including Japanese textiles, ranged between BD20 and BD30 depending on texture and finish.
