Southern Governor Reviews Ramadan Security Plans

His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate and Chairman of the Security Committee, chaired the second Security Committee meeting for 2026. The session was attended by Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor, Colonel Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Deputy Director-General of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, and several senior officers representing the Ministry of Interior’s security departments.

At the start of the meeting, His Highness welcomed attendees and emphasized the critical role of the Security Committee in implementing the directives of Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior. He underlined the committee’s commitment to monitoring and addressing the needs of residents to strengthen safety and stability across the Southern Governorate. His Highness also praised the dedicated efforts of security personnel in upholding public safety and commended the high level of cooperation and coordination between the Governorate and security authorities.

The meeting included a review of plans by relevant authorities ahead of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. Measures include securing main roads and the surroundings of mosques, alongside intensified field campaigns in markets and public facilities, aimed at enhancing security and safety throughout the month.

His Highness also reviewed a report by the Operations Division of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, which highlighted recent developments in security matters and events. He stressed the importance of continued joint coordination and strengthening preventive measures across all areas of the governorate to serve residents effectively.

The session featured a visual presentation by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Evidence, with His Highness commending the high level of preparedness, rapid response to reports, and effective cooperation among relevant authorities, reflecting readiness to manage emerging challenges.

In addition, His Highness reviewed efforts by the General Directorate of Traffic to support road safety and continue regulatory campaigns during the desert camping season, promoting traffic awareness and ensuring the safety of campers and visitors to rural areas.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the security departments expressed their appreciation for the role of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa in overseeing and implementing security initiatives through a community partnership approach, aligning with residents’ expectations and reinforcing the progress of safety and stability in the Southern Governorate.
