Bahrain is seeing a growing influx of tourists eager to discover the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and unique adventure experiences. From historic sites and traditional markets to coastal attractions and desert landscapes, visitors are increasingly choosing Bahrain as a destination that blends history with modern lifestyle.
The surge aligns with Bahrain’s ambitious tourism strategy, which aims to attract 14.1 million visitors annually by 2026. The Kingdom is also targeting an increase in the tourism sector’s contribution to the national economy, with plans to raise it to 11.4 percent of GDP by the same year.

Officials believe continued infrastructure development, enhanced air connectivity, and a packed calendar of events will further support growth in the sector.
Additionally, the recently announced GCC-wide tourist visa — expected to operate in a similar way to Europe’s Schengen system — is set to boost regional travel once implemented, making it easier for visitors to explore multiple Gulf destinations, including Bahrain.
