Manama: Inspired by India’s Swachh Bharat Mission, the Telugu Eco Warriors organised a community-led environmental clean-up drive titled ‘Swachh Bahrain, Clean Bahrain’ at Seef Beach in Manama, behind the Indian Embassy, with a focus on protecting oceans from plastic pollution and promoting environmental responsibility.
The initiative was held as part of the 100-week celebrations and was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse, who served as the Chief Guest. Ramesh Sampangi, Chairman of the Sampangi Group, attended the event as a Special Guest.
The programme was co-sponsored by Habeeb Rahman, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Shifa Al Jazeera, while representatives from OM Jewellery WLL also took part in the initiative.
The event was jointly organised by Rama Mohan Kothapalli, Naveen Kotagiri, and members of the Telugu Eco Warriors. Participants expressed pride in contributing to environmental protection in Bahrain, which many of them described as their workplace and home away from home.
Organisers conveyed their gratitude to the Government of Bahrain for its support and extended their respect and greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince.
Reaffirming their commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability, Telugu Eco Warriors said they plan to continue organising similar initiatives in the future for the benefit of society and the natural environment.
