Sewerage Projects for Northern Fourth Constituency Set Out for 2026

The Ministry of Works has detailed its sewerage plans for the Fourth Constituency in the Northern Governorate for 2026 in a written response to a parliamentary question submitted by MP Hasan Ibrahim Hasan. The reply was issued by the Minister of Works, Ebrahim bin Hasan Al Hawaj, forming an official record of the government’s commitments for the coming year.

Works

According to the ministerial response, three sewerage projects are currently under implementation and will continue through 2026. In Abu Quwah, works are underway to construct a full sewerage network, including a new pumping station and extensive pipelines serving a large number of residential properties. In the areas of Al Qadam and Jabalat Habshi, the project focuses on expanding an existing pumping station and extending sewerage lines to improve capacity and coverage. In southern Sehla, a major project has reached an advanced stage, with completion expected during 2026, making it the only scheme scheduled to be fully delivered within the year.

Plans

The ministry also outlined future sewerage projects in Salmabad, specifically in blocks 708 and 714. Detailed designs for both locations have already been completed. Implementation is provisionally planned for the final quarter of 2026, subject to the completion of technical and administrative procedures. The ministry stressed that execution will depend on meeting these requirements.

Costs

The total value of the sewerage projects currently under execution exceeds eleven million dinars, reflecting a significant investment in underground infrastructure. While funding allocations are clearly identified, no fixed delivery dates have been assigned for all projects.

Oversight

From a parliamentary standpoint, the response provides clarity on locations, costs and scope, but leaves timelines flexible. MP Hasan Ibrahim Hasan is expected to continue monitoring progress to ensure that the commitments outlined by Minister Ebrahim bin Hasan Al Hawaj result in tangible improvements for residents across the constituency during 2026 and beyond.
