HRH Crown Prince Meets Newly Appointed UK Maritime Commander in Bahrain
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, today received Commodore Dan Thomas, the newly appointed Commander of the UK Maritime Component Command for the Middle East, at Gudaibiya Palace.
During the meeting, HRH Prince Salman highlighted the strength of the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, noting its continued growth across multiple sectors, particularly in defence and military cooperation.
The Crown Prince emphasized the importance of further developing bilateral ties and advancing joint agreements, including the Comprehensive Security and Integrated Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), to achieve shared regional and global objectives.
HRH Prince Salman also acknowledged the United Kingdom’s key role, alongside allied nations, in maintaining regional and international security and stability. He welcomed Commodore Thomas to Bahrain and extended his best wishes for success in his new position.
The discussions also covered the latest regional and international developments, ways to strengthen cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, attended the meeting.
