Oil and Environment Minister Reinforces Bahrain UAE Partnership

Bahrain’s Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina has met UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Fahad Mohammed bin Kardous Al Ameri during an official visit to the Mohammed bin Zayed Natural Reserve, underscoring the growing environmental cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place during a tour of the reserve attended by members of the UAE Embassy delegation. The visit provided an opportunity to review the reserve’s facilities, environmental components and conservation programmes, as well as the efforts led by the Supreme Council for Environment to protect wildlife and preserve biodiversity. 

Message

During the tour, Dr bin Daina said the royal directive issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to name Al Areen Wildlife Park after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reflects the depth of the fraternal and historic relations between Bahrain and the UAE. He noted that the decision symbolises the strong and evolving partnership between the two countries, particularly in environmental cooperation and sustainability.

Appreciation

The UAE Ambassador expressed his sincere thanks for the warm reception, describing the naming of the Mohammed bin Zayed Natural Reserve as a powerful expression of the close bonds linking the leaderships of both countries. He said the gesture reflects mutual respect, genuine friendship and a shared commitment to safeguarding natural heritage and wildlife across the region.

Recognition

The ambassador highlighted the reserve’s status as a major environmental landmark in Bahrain and a leading model for wildlife protection and biodiversity conservation. He praised Bahrain’s efforts and its central role in environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources.

Cooperation

Emphasising the importance of strengthening joint environmental action, the ambassador called for continued collaboration between the two countries to promote sustainability and protect natural assets. He also wished Bahrain continued progress and prosperity

The Mohammed bin Zayed Natural Reserve is regarded as one of Bahrain’s most prominent environmental sites, playing a vital role in protecting wildlife and native plant species, while also serving educational and research objectives in support of long term environmental sustainability.
