Manama: The Philippine Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain has issued a public advisory warning residents against scam calls and messages from individuals falsely claiming to be embassy personnel.

According to the embassy, reports have been received of scammers using the official embassy emblem on WhatsApp and other messaging platforms to appear legitimate and extort money from victims, often under the guise of offering Assistance-to-Nationals services.

The embassy stressed that it does not solicit payments for any consular or assistance services and does not request money through unofficial channels or personal accounts. It also reminded the public to verify information only through the embassy’s official social media pages and contact numbers.

Filipinos in Bahrain and elsewhere have been urged to remain vigilant, exercise caution when receiving unsolicited calls or messages, and report suspicious communications to the proper authorities.
