Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting

His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet praised the outcomes of the talks between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan, highlighting the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Bahrain and Pakistan.

The Cabinet expressed gratitude for the King’s commendation of the second edition of the Hawa Al Manama Festival, thanking the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Tourism, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and all other involved entities for their successful efforts.

The meeting also highlighted the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s meeting with the top 100 companies employing the most Bahrainis in 2025. The Cabinet commended the Ministry of Labour and the private sector for implementing the Crown Prince’s directive to provide three job opportunities to every registered job seeker. Efforts to employ 25,000 Bahrainis in 2026, including 10,000 new entrants to the workforce, were also reviewed.

The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain’s selection as the Capital of Arab Sports Culture for 2026, praising the contributions of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in developing the sports and youth sectors.

In honor of the International Day of Education, the Cabinet thanked teachers and educators for their dedication to advancing the Kingdom’s education sector.

The Cabinet condemned the recent terrorist attack on a police vehicle in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which killed several officers, and extended condolences to the government, people of Pakistan, and the victims’ families.

Several approvals were made during the meeting, including:

Completing the regulatory framework for halal products in Bahrain.

Memoranda of understanding and executive programmes with Kuwait.

A memorandum between the Ministry of Education and the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Measures to improve judicial inquiry services.

Government responses to proposals and draft laws from the Council of Representatives.

The Cabinet also reviewed reports on Bahrain’s international engagements, including:

The Interior Minister’s official visit to Kuwait.

Participation in the Dubai International Project Management Forum.

The 16th session of the International Renewable Energy Agency Assembly.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.

The Golden Jubilee of the Arab Bureau of Education for Gulf States.

The meeting of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports.
