HRH Princess Sabika Chairs First Meeting of the Supreme Council for Women’s Ninth Term
Manama, Bahrain – Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Women, chaired today (Wednesday) the first meeting of the Council’s ninth term (2025–2028) at the Council’s headquarters in Riffa.
At the start of the meeting, HRH Princess Sabika welcomed the attendees and congratulated the newly appointed members of the Supreme Council for Women on their royal appointments for the ninth term. She expressed her sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Government, headed by HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their continuous support of the Council since its establishment.
HRH Princess Sabika praised the royal decree declaring 2026 as the “Year of Isa the Great,” commemorating the founder of modern Bahrain and the architect of the institutional renaissance, Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. She noted that this milestone coincides with the Council entering its silver jubilee, reflecting Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to building a modern state under wise leadership.
Her Royal Highness emphasized that while the establishment of the Council was a major achievement in advancing women’s progress in Bahrain, the current challenge lies in maintaining these achievements and continuing to provide the best opportunities for Bahraini women. She expressed her hopes that the Supreme Council for Women will continue to pursue its objectives and work in collaboration with government bodies, the private sector, and civil society to achieve the ambitions of Bahraini women.
