In line with the directives of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, planted and watered the 191,000th tree at Manama Municipality, surpassing the annual 2025 target under Bahrain’s national afforestation plan. The milestone marks the completion of the year’s afforestation works.

The initiative was attended by ministers and senior officials.

Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, said achieving the annual afforestation target for the third consecutive year demonstrates Bahrain’s commitment to environmental sustainability, in line with the comprehensive development process guided by His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince.

To date, 2.4 million trees have been planted across Bahrain, representing 67% of the 3.6 million tree target set for 2035.

Mangrove planting has also exceeded expectations, with 2.2 million saplings planted—138% of the 1.6 million target for 2035.
