HM King highlights Muharraq’s significance and people’s enduring contributions

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa affirmed the historical significance of Muharraq, highlighting the city’s deep-rooted heritage and its pivotal role in Bahrain’s history.

He also lauded the authenticity of its people, their enduring contributions, and the well-established role they have played across generations in shaping the Kingdom’s journey.

“Muharraq has a deep-rooted civilisation, and its people have consistently played a vital role in shaping our national identity,” HM the King said, highlighting the city’s pivotal place in Bahrain’s heritage.

He added: “The citizens of Muharraq continue to demonstrate dedication, unity, and a strong sense of belonging that enriches our cultural landscape.

“Preserving our values, traditions, and knowledge is the cornerstone of a prosperous life and national responsibility.”

Admiration

HM King Hamad expressed his admiration for the Muharraq Nights Festival, praising its organisers and the collective efforts that have ensured its continued success since inception. He acknowledged the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), chaired by His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, for its role in organising and hosting this cultural, tourism, and entertainment festival that showcases Bahrain’s civilisational legacy.

HM the King also commended the Muharraq Governorate, led by H.E. Governor Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Manaei, for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth execution of the national events.

He extended his thanks to all contributors, including media professionals under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, for their efforts in highlighting the festival’s achievements to the public.

HM King Hamad noted that the festival’s success reflects Bahrain’s leadership in understanding life’s requirements, particularly in the cultural domain.

He emphasised the importance of preserving fundamental values while citizens uphold their religion, traditions, and authentic moral principles.

His Majesty expressed pride in the large turnout of citizens, residents, and visitors, whose participation underscored the Kingdom’s unity and cultural pride.
