Young Author Establishes Independent Publishing Platform in Bahrain
Turning passion into a platform for herself and others
Farah Naaz, an 18-year-old author and publisher based in Bahrain, began her writing journey at the age of 13, initially focusing on poetry and creative writing. Born in India and raised in Bahrain for 14 years, she has since published three books and launched her own independent publishing platform to support emerging writers.
Her published works include Just a Flight Away, a novel exploring long-distance relationships and migration, Dumbass to Kickass, a humorous non-fiction book on personal growth, and Not My Circus, Always My Monkeys, which focuses on emotional boundaries and responsibility.
Faced with limited local publishing opportunities, Farah independently learned the full publishing process, from editing and design to printing and marketing. Her platform has since completed more than 62 creative projects.
She encourages young writers to begin with available resources and build skills over time. “Don’t wait until everything feels perfect. Start with what you have, where you are. Your voice matters, even if it shakes at first,” she said.
Through her work as both an author and publisher, Farah has contributed to Bahrain’s literary sector by providing guidance and publishing opportunities for emerging writers.
