AMT Amateur Fight Night – Series 2 closed out the year with excitement for Bahrain’s boxing scene on Friday night at Al Najma Club. The event reinforced a growing movement focused on youth development, competitive standards, and community engagement. Designed as a professional-style showcase for amateur fighters, it brought together juniors, youth, and elite athletes for a full-action night that emphasized exposure and progression rather than just results.

The card featured a wide range of matchups across multiple categories and weight classes, with fighters representing clubs including AMT, JD, Aldov, Real G, UFC, The Ghost, TITANS, and MJ Sports. Each bout was structured to mirror a true fight-night environment, allowing young athletes to compete in front of a crowd, and within a disciplined setting that reflected boxing’s steady rise in the Kingdom.

The main event featured Taha Tatiuddin (JD) and Naser Yousif (Titans), with Naser Yousif winning via decision. In the co-main event, Ali Alhaddad (AMT) faced George Fletcher (Round 1), with George Fletcher also securing victory by decision.

Speaking to The Daily Tribune, event organizer Frank Ortega said the series was created with a long-term vision for Bahraini boxing. Ortega explained that Series 2 builds on the momentum of the inaugural event held on August 29, forming part of a wider initiative aimed at strengthening the national talent pipeline.

“This is Series Two of the fight nights I’ve organized here in Bahrain,” Ortega told TDT. “The idea is to develop more fighters in the nation, fighters who can represent Bahrain on the national team and eventually aim for the Olympic championships.”

He added that boxing is continuing to grow locally, but stressed that growth must be supported by real opportunities. “For me, this is my passion, this is my life,” Ortega said. “The youth deserve a proper platform where they can gain confidence, understand what real fight night feels like, and shine on a stage that prepares them for higher levels.”
