Bahrain Industry Ministry Expands Digital Trade Programme to Include Factories

Manama: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce, through its Information Systems Department, has launched the third edition of the Digital Trade Pioneers Abroad Programme for companies and factories, in collaboration with Bahrain Exports and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The initiative brings together several leading organisations in the digital trade sector.

The programme forms part of the ministry’s strategic efforts to strengthen Bahrain’s digital trade ecosystem and expand its contribution to the national digital economy. It aims to support the export capabilities of companies, commercial establishments and factories by enabling them to adopt digital trade tools and strategies that enhance their reach in global markets.
Maram Mukhtar Al-Mahmeed, Director of the Information Systems Department, highlighted the programme’s success in its previous two editions, which attracted more than 170 participants from 96 companies and institutions. She noted that the third edition expands participation to include factories, reflecting the sector’s significance as a key driver of future economic growth.
This year’s programme includes an export guidance workshop delivered by Bahrain Exports, in addition to specialised mentoring sessions led by experts in digital trade and export. Participants will gain insights into real-world challenges and success stories, methods for building effective online stores, and key considerations in digital marketing, logistics, policy frameworks and intellectual property protection.
The initiative also offers companies and factories the opportunity to learn directly from industry leaders, positioning them to enhance their competitiveness in the global digital marketplace. One qualified participant will be awarded the title of Digital Trade Pioneer Abroad.
Companies, institutions and factories interested in joining the programme may register through the ministry’s online portal. Inquiries can be directed to 17574888 or ecom@moic.gov.bh
