Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, in his capacity as Chair of the current GCC Ministerial Council, led the 166th preparatory meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council ahead of the 46th Gulf Summit.
The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of all GCC member states, along with GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi.
At the opening of the session, Dr. Al Zayani conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, expressing their hopes for the success of the summit’s preparatory discussions.
He also extended sincere appreciation to Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, for his efforts and leadership during the previous ministerial term, and thanked the GCC Secretary-General and his team for their work in organizing the meeting.
Dr. Al Zayani noted that Bahrain’s hosting of the 46th GCC Summit reflects the commitment of Gulf leaders to strengthening cooperation and building on more than four decades of collective achievements. He highlighted the leaders’ dedication to maintaining GCC unity and advancing greater integration for the benefit of their nations and citizens.
He added that over the past years, the GCC has demonstrated its ability to navigate regional and global challenges, establishing itself as an influential regional bloc that contributes to security, stability, and development.
