New Line-Up Approved for Bahrain’s National Communicable Diseases Taskforce
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued Resolution (73) of 2025 approving the restructuring of the National Communicable Diseases Control Team.
The decision was made following a proposal by the Minister of Health and the approval of the Cabinet.
Under the new formation, the team will be chaired by the Minister of Health, with members representing key government sectors, including:
The Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, Ministry of Health
The Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Services, Ministry of Education
Director of Animal Health, Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture
Director of Inspection, Ministry of Industry and Commerce
Director of the Media Office, National Communication Centre
Head of Medical Services, Primary Health Care Centres
Chief of Internal Medicine, Government Hospitals
Head of Healthcare Facilities Regulation, National Health Regulatory Authority
Head of Infection Control Unit, Royal Medical Services
Chief Medical Officer, King Hamad University Hospital
An infectious diseases consultant from the private healthcare sector, appointed by the Supreme Council of Health
Head of the Therapeutic Division, Directorate of Health and Social Affairs, Ministry of Interior
The Head of the Communicable Disease Control Department at the Ministry of Health will serve as the team’s rapporteur.
The resolution instructs the Minister of Health and relevant authorities to implement its provisions, effective the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
