Prominent Indian Businessman L.R. Gajria Passes Away in Bahrain

Lalchand Ratanchand Gajria (L.R. Gajria), a well-known Indian businessman and one of the leading figures in Bahrain’s trading sector, has passed away after a long career that spanned several decades. He leaves behind a significant legacy in the local market, especially in the electronics and electrical equipment sector.

Gajria was considered one of the pioneering Indian entrepreneurs who helped boost Bahrain’s commercial activity. He was widely regarded as a self-made businessman who built his business step by step until becoming a respected name in the country’s trade community.

He arrived in Bahrain in 1958 as a young man and began working in the commercial sector with limited resources. Over the years, he expanded his operations and later founded Gajria Electronics, a company specializing in importing and selling electrical and electronic equipment.

As the business grew, the company became a recognized brand in Bahrain’s market. With continued expansion, he went on to establish Gajria Holdings, an investment group managing a range of ventures across different sectors—reflecting his transformation from a small individual project to a well-structured commercial entity with a strong presence in Bahrain.

Beyond business, Gajria was an active member of the Indian community in Bahrain. He was known for supporting community and charity initiatives and participating in social and cultural activities.

In 2024, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from an Indian community organization in Bahrain, honoring his long-standing economic and social contributions.

Economic and community leaders have expressed condolences, describing him as one of the most prominent Indian business figures in Bahrain and a role model who combined professional success with community service.
