Bapco Energies and Awali Hospital have expanded a community health screening initiative for patients referred from government hospitals.

A total of two hundred and seventy procedures were completed and this included eighty one colonoscopies and one hundred and eighty nine mammo - grams.

The initiative directly supported the reduction of diagnostic waiting lists and enabled faster access to essential cancer detection services.

The effort builds on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in two thousand and twenty three between Bapco Energies and government health authorities.

It reflects their shared vision of elevating healthcare accessibility, strengthening preventive medicine and improving population health outcomes across the Kingdom.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Tariq Hameed, Chief Medical Officer at Awali Hospital, said that the hospital remains focused on delivering exceptional care while advancing preventive and diagnostic services.

He said that the expanded screening programme reduces waiting times and enables early detection and timely treatment. He added that the support of Bapco Energies has been instrumental in scaling access to high quality diagnostics.

Stronger partnership

The partnership between Bapco Energies, Awali Hospital and government health authorities underscores the strength of collaborative approaches in meeting the Kingdom’s healthcare challenges.

It eased pressure on referral systems and expedited access to life saving diagnostics.

The expanded screenings aligned with national priorities in cancer control and provided patients with faster access to required diagnostic procedures.

Both organisations contributed to the implementation of the expanded screening initiative and the programme contributes meaningfully to community health and wellbeing.
