Brimming Music Waves Go Beyond Boundaries

The Metaholic Band is set to create ripples among music lovers worldwide

If music means talent and harmony, these youngsters and their band are here to stay. The Metaholic, a Bahrain music band, is gradually gaining currency among the music lovers irrespective of the culture and the language barriers.

The enthusiastic music band consists of (stage names) JoetheDrummer, Naji –the bassist, Wolverine – the vocal, Vambire- lead guitarist and Waleed –the rhythm guitarist.

These five youngsters believe that their music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to imagination and charm to life. Metaholic was started in 2011. The initial days for them were hard. They started playing for Valentine’s Day in one of themalls in Bahrain. Even after a couple of shows and performances, the band could neither decide its name nor declare the style of the band.

So often, some of the shows were also cancelled. Later on, the line up has changed, and they came up with a name and style for their band, “The Metaholic” - the Heavy Metal Band. The band released their first music video “Lucid Dream” OST of “Silveraven”. The particular video was the first music video of its kind, which was categorised under the genre rock/metal in the Kingdom.

“We were happy and proud because the video was shown on the silver screens of Seef Cinemas. We consider this as our achievement. We had a great feeling of dignity, when the same video was telecast in one of the Argentinian TV channels. In fact, they discussed almost half an-hour about our video,” say the Band members.

The Metaholic Band is the first band to play under the Ministry of Culture during “Bahrain Summer Event”, under the genre of rock/metal. The team also got a chance to perform on the National Day of Bahrain at Bahrain International Circuit.

“We also managed to release another music video for a local movie “Dead Sand” by the end of 2014. All our gratitude and appreciation goes to our friends. They made our dream into reality. Some of them are Abdulla al Dosari, Ahmed Al Zayani, Abdulwahab Basil, Hasan Fulath, Ahmed Haji, Waleed Haji,” Mohammed Alam, the vocalist of the Band reveals.

On their future plans and programmes, the team says, “We are trying to take this music band internationally. We also got couple of offers to play at Argentina where our music video “Lucid Dream” was showed. Our intention is to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain. We were surprised to know that on our last visit to Kuwait for a performance, we came across some people whom we have never met, but they have heard of our band
