The Ministry of Interior’s Nationality, Passports and Residency Affairs (NPRA) and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) have signed a new cooperation framework to regulate visa transfer fee collection and residence permit cancellations.
The agreement was signed by NPRA Undersecretary His Excellency Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and LMRA Chief Executive Officer Nibras Mohamed Taleb, marking a new step toward enhancing integration between the two government bodies.
Shaikh Hisham said the framework reinforces the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing commitment to strengthening collaboration across government institutions and improving services for residents and business owners. He noted that unifying procedures and organising fee collection mechanisms are essential to providing a smoother user experience and ensuring more efficient joint operations.
He added that cooperation with the LMRA aligns with Bahrain’s wider digital transformation strategy, enabling faster, more flexible, and technology-driven services that meet international standards.
According to both sides, the framework is designed to simplify processes, raise service quality, and boost transparency. It reflects a shared dedication to developing government performance and supporting Bahrain’s ambitions for a more advanced, efficient, and integrated digital ecosystem.
