BACA Announces Completion of Plans for Annual Muharraq Nights Event

Festival to Showcase Muharraq’s Heritage Through a Month-Long Programme of Arts, Music, and Tours.

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) announces that it is completing final preparations for the fourth Muharraq Nights Festival, which will be held along the Pearling Path in Muharraq from 1 to 30 December 2025. BACA states that the festival aims to offer a renewed cultural experience and to highlight the historic identity of the city.

According to the authority, Muharraq is preparing to showcase its heritage landmarks and narrate its long-standing stories as part of a major event on Bahrain’s cultural calendar. BACA confirms that the festival is expected to welcome visitors from across the Kingdom and from abroad throughout December.

The festival programme will run daily and will include a wide range of cultural and artistic activities, such as live musical performances within the Pearling Path site. BACA explains that the event reflects Bahrain’s commitment to cultural engagement as a means of strengthening national identity and preserving heritage, noting that the festival coincides with the Celebrate Bahrain season.

Activities will take place along the 3.5-kilometre Pearling Path and throughout surrounding historic buildings that have played a central role in shaping the national memory of Muharraq. The programme provides visitors with an experience that blends authenticity with the city’s deep historical roots, guiding them through houses and squares that embody Muharraq’s cultural life. This journey is further enriched by stops along the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pearling Path and explorations of the historic alleys recognised within UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network.

The Muharraq Nights Festival will feature a diverse programme that includes art, design, crafts, children’s events, food experiences, music, and guided tours. BACA adds that additional updates and the daily schedule will be available on the Pearling Path website and through its official social media channels.

The festival will welcome visitors from Sunday to Wednesday between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and from Thursday to Saturday between 5:00 PM and 12:00 midnight.
