Captain ADIBS Touches Down in Abu Dhabi

The capital is gearing up for a spectacular showcase on the water as the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) 2025 sails back into town from November 20 to 23. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the seventh edition of the event is organised by ADNEC Group, part of Modon, and promises an expanded programme packed with family fun, entertainment, and immersive waterfront experiences at the ADNEC Marina Hall.

But before visitors flock to the marina… something gigantic has already landed.

Meet Captain ADIBS — Abu Dhabi’s Giant Flamingo Making a Big Splash

In a creative pre-show spectacle, ADNEC Group — together with Experience Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards — has unveiled a brand-new attraction: Captain ADIBS, a record-breaking inflatable flamingo towering over the capital’s coastline.

Soaring 23 metres high, 17 metres long and 19 metres wide, this giant pink figure is inspired by the UAE’s native wetland flamingos and is now aiming to secure a Guinness World Record™ as the world’s largest inflatable pool float.

From November 15 to 18, Captain ADIBS will appear along several waterfronts including Yas Bay Waterfront, Etihad Arena, and Al Raha Beach — turning heads, sparking photo moments, and building excitement for the show. The enormous flamingo will then glide its way to the ADNEC Marina from November 20 to 23, officially welcoming guests to the region’s premier marine event.

This year’s Boat Show is a vibrant celebration of the marine world, featuring a mix of local and international exhibitors, live demonstrations, and unforgettable waterfront moments. Running daily from 2 PM to 10 PM, the event is designed to engage every type of visitor — from boating enthusiasts to families, adventure-seekers, and casual explorers.

A new highlight this year is the Sunset Terrace, a serene waterfront lounge featuring cosy seating and curated food and beverage choices — the perfect spot to enjoy Abu Dhabi’s golden-hour views.

• Al Forsan Display Team will electrify the skies with their aerial stunts.

And for 2025, the live entertainment lineup gets bigger and bolder. Local and international performers will take centre stage daily, with notable acts including Dubai’s genre-fusing duo ABRI, and internationally acclaimed DJ and creative artist Miranda Loyi.
