Bahrain’s Human Rights Push Grows Stronger After Committee’s Third Session

Under the chairmanship of Adviser Mohammed Juma Fuzai, the Public Rights and Freedoms Committee at the National Institution for Human Rights held its third regular meeting. At the start of the session, the committee discussed a proposal to submit a recommendation for organising a series of targeted activities in collaboration with relevant partners, aimed at maximising benefits and strengthening the institution’s role in promoting a culture of human rights. The plan also seeks to expand the institution’s outreach to various segments of society.

During the meeting, members reviewed a detailed report summarising the committee’s previous recommendations and decisions, as well as the implementation measures undertaken so far. This review ensures the full activation of the committee’s outputs and maximises the benefits derived from its work.

The session concluded with the committee examining advisory opinions received from the legislative authority. The relevant body was provided with appropriate responses framed within a rights-based approach that aligns with international human rights obligations.
