HH Shaikh Khalid Attends Opening of 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, held on Friday, November 7, in Al Janadriyah, Riyadh.

The grand event took place under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Emir of Riyadh, and His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, Minister of Sports, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, alongside senior Saudi officials, sports leaders, international Olympic representatives, diplomats, and distinguished guests.

During the ceremony, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad warmly greeted the Bahraini delegation as they marched in the parade, expressing pride in their participation.

On this occasion, His Highness extended heartfelt congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — its leadership and people — on hosting the sixth edition of the Games. He commended the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his gracious patronage and the continuous support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, emphasizing that such efforts reflect Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to advancing sports across the Arab and Islamic worlds and promoting unity through athletic solidarity.

HH Shaikh Khalid praised the outstanding organization of the opening ceremony, which showcased Saudi Arabia’s creative and logistical capabilities, noting the professionalism and precision evident in every detail.

“We have full confidence in Saudi Arabia’s ability to deliver an exceptional edition of the Games,” he said, “further cementing its global standing in the world of sports and embodying the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood that this event represents.”

His Highness concluded by wishing success to all participating teams, affirming that Riyadh 2025 will stand as a model of excellence and innovation in serving youth and sports across the Islamic world.
