His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday reviewed Bahrain’s close bilateral ties with Malaysia during talks with His Majesty King Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Malaysia, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

During the meeting at Sakhir Palace, their Majesties discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both countries and peoples. They emphasised their shared commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors and supporting joint efforts that promote mutual interests.

Following the meeting, an expanded session of talks was held with senior officials from both sides. His Majesty King Hamad said the historic visit would further strengthen the close and deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and Malaysia, building upon the generous invitation to King Sultan Ibrahim’s Coronation last year.

“We are both strong advocates of peace in Gaza, the entry of humanitarian and reconstruction aid, and a two-state solution as the only lasting route to peace in the Middle East,” HM added. Both countries already enjoy strong cultural links and business opportunities. King Hamad noted Bahrain is committed to deepening collaboration in areas such as banking, fintech, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure.

His Majesty King Sultan Ibrahim said Bahrain is an important partner for Malaysia, and expressed confidence in further strengthening economic cooperation in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

The visit concluded with a dinner banquet hosted by King Hamad in honour of King Sultan Ibrahim and his delegation, attended by senior officials from both countries. The national anthems of Bahrain and Malaysia were played during the ceremony.
