Man divorces friend’s daughter, marries his ex-wife in ‘revenge’

A Bahraini man has divorced his friend’s 18-year-old daughter and married his friend’s ex-wife following an argument with him, court files revealed. The 33-year-old man was a close friend of the teenager’s father to the extent that he decided to build an apartment on the first floor. When the daughter’s age reached 18 years, the 33-year-old man   requested to marry her.

The two men, however, turned enemies after the 33-year-old decided to desert his 18-year-old wife. The man, however, remained in his small apartment in the house despite divorcing the girl. Meanwhile, arguments  began to surface between the parents of the teenager, and they ended up untying the knot.

The father was later kicked out from the house, after his ex-wife won a lawsuit to claim the ownership of the property. An irate father of the girl entered the house and attacked the friend.

The 33-year-old filed a complaint against his ex-friend accusing him of living in the house without permission.  But the Lower Criminal Court acquitted him of living illegally in the house after his ID card indicated the same address of the house. He was, however, fined BD100 on assault charges. The 33-year-old took instant revenge over his ex-friend by marrying his divorcee, who is in her early forties.
