Bahrain MP Hamad Al Doy has submitted an urgent proposal calling on the government to expedite the payment of overdue grade promotions and allowances owed to public-sector employees. Despite being eligible under Civil Service Bureau decisions, many employees have yet to receive their dues.

He emphasized that the move responds to growing calls from staff whose entitlements are long overdue. While some ministries and government bodies have made payments, others have not, resulting in unequal treatment that has affected employee morale, efficiency, and output.

The proposal seeks equal treatment across all government entities, aiming to lift staff morale, strengthen a sense of belonging at work, and ease pressure on Bahraini households as living costs rise. It urges the Civil Service Bureau, in coordination with relevant bodies, to take immediate steps to ensure that all eligible employees receive their promotions and allowances without exception, applying civil service rules uniformly.

Al Doy noted that settling these dues would improve job satisfaction, build trust in public institutions, stabilize family finances, and enhance the overall quality of government performance and services.

He also stressed adherence to allocations set in the state budget, warning against freezing them without valid administrative reasons. The lawmaker concluded that implementing the proposal would promote fairness, sound administrative and financial discipline, and equal treatment for all public-sector staff.
