US envoy meets CPISP scholars

American Ambassador William Roebuck received at his residence yesterday the recipients of the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) 2015 scholarships studying in the United States of America.

Roebuck welcomed the scholars and their parents, praising their academic excellence and wished them a successful educational experience.  

He also praised the efforts of the CPISP in providing outstanding Bahraini students the opportunity to study at top international universities and gain international cultural exposure, highlighting the programme’s role in strengthening educational and cultural relations between Bahrain and the US.

CPISP Director Dr Cynthia Gessling thanked the US Embassy for its ongoing support and cooperation, praising Bahrain’s solid ties with the US, especially in the field of education.

The 2015 group of scholarship recipients includes seven students studying in the US.  They are:  Abdulla Ebrahim Hussain, Yusuf Adel Ali, Ebtihal Ali Essa, Bayan Alsairafi and Zahra Ali Marhoon, who are completing their American High School Diploma before applying for university; Bassam Alalawi, who is enrolled at Princeton University; and Yusuf Jailani, who is enrolled at Harvard University.
