HRH Crown Prince Meets UK Defence Senior Advisor to Strengthen Strategic Ties

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, today welcomed Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, the United Kingdom’s Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, along with his delegation, at Gudaibiya Palace.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness reaffirmed Bahrain’s long-standing and historic relationship with the United Kingdom, highlighting a multi-sector strategic partnership that continues to expand, particularly in military and defence collaboration.

The Crown Prince emphasized the shared commitment of both nations to enhance bilateral cooperation and pursue common goals. He praised the successful ties between Bahrain and the UK, noting key agreements such as the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), recently joined by the UK. These initiatives, His Royal Highness stated, bolster coordination, drive development, and create meaningful opportunities benefiting the citizens of both Kingdoms.

His Royal Highness also acknowledged the United Kingdom’s pivotal role, alongside its allies, in reinforcing regional and global security and stability.

The discussions also covered matters of mutual interest, strategies to further strengthen bilateral relations, and the latest regional and international developments.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, attended the meeting.
