Deputy PM Reviews Key Road Projects, Calls for Special Attention to Strategic Developments
His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, affirmed that Bahrain’s remarkable progress in road infrastructure reflects the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Their vision, he said, continues to strengthen Bahrain’s modern infrastructure with a safe, efficient, and future-ready road network.
During a meeting at Gudaibiya Palace this morning with His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, Shaikh Khalid reviewed updates on the Kingdom’s major road projects. Among them were the Crown Prince’s Avenue expansion, King Faisal Highway upgrade, the Fourth Bridge project, the third phase of the Southern Ring Road, and the new overpass connecting to Road 105 and Muharraq Ring Road.
Shaikh Khalid emphasized that these road developments are vital to national growth, serving as a key pillar supporting economic, service, and investment sectors. He highlighted their role in reducing travel times, enhancing traffic flow, and improving the overall quality of life for citizens and residents alike.
Commending the Ministry of Works team behind the Jasra Interchange project, Shaikh Khalid congratulated them for their efforts, which have significantly improved traffic capacity and road efficiency in the surrounding areas. He expressed appreciation for the dedication and professionalism shown by Bahraini engineers and workers, describing them as “the hands that build and develop Bahrain,” working in the true spirit of Team Bahrain.
“The achievements we witness today are the result of collective effort, discipline, and precision,” he said, adding that the integrated approach among government entities reflects a strong institutional foundation built on proactive planning and close coordination. This, he noted, ensures projects are completed on time, in line with quality and safety standards, and contribute to a sustainable infrastructure that supports Bahrain’s comprehensive development goals.
Shaikh Khalid directed the Ministry of Works to give special attention to the ongoing strategic road projects, recognizing their critical role in expanding and upgrading Bahrain’s transport network to meet the needs of continued urban and economic growth.
For his part, H.E. Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj expressed deep gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for his continuous support and for recognizing the efforts of national engineering teams. He noted that Shaikh Khalid’s leadership of the Ministerial Committee for Development Projects and Infrastructure has been instrumental in driving progress across road, sanitation, and building maintenance sectors.
He added that this encouragement serves as a strong motivation for all ministry teams to continue working with dedication and unity toward achieving the visions and aspirations of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
