HRH Premier calls for GCC, Arab solidarity to face challenges

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has called on GCC and Arab countries to step up their solidarity and rally together to face the current challenges and not allow those seeking to spark divisions and disseminate grudges among them to transform their stable societies into battlefields, as it is the case in some neighbouring countries.

He stressed that unified GCC and Arab stances and collective responses are necessary to safeguard Arab countries' security and stability and preserve their peoples' gains and achievements, stressing that once united, GCC and Arab countries will adopt stronger unified stances, and enhance their coordination in facing everything that may impede their development efforts.

HRH the Prime Minister made the statements as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Speaker of the Representatives Council Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla, MPs, Shura Council members and senior state officials, with whom he reviewed a number of local, regional and global issues.

HRH Premier reiterated his categorical rejection of all forms of interferences in the countries' domestic affairs, stressing commitment to international conventions that affirm the right of every country to protect its sovereignty and take the measures it deems necessary to maintain its security and that of its citizens.

Tackling domestic issues, HRH the Prime Minister lauded the existing positive cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches, calling for the need to maintain and strengthen such collaboration for the best interests of the kingdom's security and stability.

"I have great confidence in you and in your cooperation, and we have to strengthen each other as a cohesive society, and discuss our issue in a way that increase our capability in facing all matters that are alien to our society," he said as he addressed MPs.

HRH Premier praised the stances of MPs and Shura Council members vis-à-vis a number of internal and external issues, which, he said, reflects their patriotism.

HRH Prince Khalifa underlined the government's keenness on consolidating its cooperation with the Legislature as the best way to fulfill the citizens' aspirations and increase the kingdom's progress.
