Derasat Launches Non-Resident Fellowship Program to Strengthen Global Research Collaboration

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) has announced the launch of its new Non-Resident Fellowship Program, aimed at expanding its research network and enhancing its role as a regional and international knowledge hub.

The initiative was unveiled by Derasat’s CEO, Mr. Abdulla Mohamed Alahmed, who described the program as a strategic step in the Center’s journey. He emphasized that the fellowship reflects Derasat’s commitment to investing in global intellectual capital, harnessing diverse expertise, and delivering in-depth, reliable research to support national policymaking.

“Think tanks derive their strength from the diversity of their research networks and their ability to attract creative talent,” Mr. Alahmed said. “This program will foster a sustainable ecosystem that generates innovative ideas, follows global transformations, and contributes to sustainable development.”

The Non-Resident Fellowship will involve distinguished academics and researchers from Bahrain and abroad in Derasat’s projects and activities without a formal employment contract. By engaging experts across different fields, the program aims to broaden collaboration, strengthen international partnerships, and enrich scientific contributions.

The fellowship will focus on strategic and international affairs, economics, energy, and environmental studies, ensuring alignment with both national and regional priorities. Applicants must meet strict academic and professional standards, including holding a Master’s or PhD in a relevant field, along with a strong research and professional track record.

According to Derasat, the program will not only expand its expert network but also contribute to intellectual events and provide high-quality advisory services to various sectors, reinforcing Bahrain’s reputation as a center for research and policy innovation.
