Bahrain’s Real Estate Sector Continues Significant Growth, Says Deputy Prime Minister
His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, affirmed that Bahrain’s real estate development sector continues to achieve significant progress, aligned with the goals of the nation’s comprehensive development journey under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister. This growth enhances the competitiveness of the national economy and reinforces Bahrain’s position as an attractive investment destination.
His Excellency highlighted that the government is actively developing the regulatory and legislative framework of the real estate sector, ensuring governance, transparency, and the protection of stakeholders’ rights. This is based on a balanced urban planning approach that prioritizes quality of life, adapts to sectoral developments, and provides an attractive environment for developers and investors alike.
The remarks were made during His Excellency’s visit this morning to Diyar Al Muharraq, where he was accompanied by a number of senior officials, including Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Chairman of the Electricity & Water Authority; Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs; Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Public Works; Mr. Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity & Water Affairs; Mrs. Amina bint Ahmed Al Rumaithi, Minister of Housing & Urban Planning; and Eng. Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, Chairman of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority. The visit, by invitation of Mr. Abdul Hakim Yaqoub Al Khayyat, Chairman of Diyar Al Muharraq, was to inspect the Naseem project on the occasion of the completion of its villa construction.
During the visit, His Excellency emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships as a consistent approach in the national economic system. He noted that such partnerships have proven effective in stimulating growth and improving the execution of major strategic projects. He also underscored the vital role of the private sector in the nation’s development, particularly in boosting non-oil contributions to the GDP, with the real estate sector being a key driver.
His Excellency added that the stability of the real estate market reflects investor confidence and sustained demand for integrated residential projects and associated services, supporting economic diversification and creating high-quality investment and employment opportunities.
During the tour, His Excellency inspected the components of the Naseem project, praising its contribution to Bahrain’s urban landscape alongside other quality projects across the Kingdom. He commended Diyar Al Muharraq as a comprehensive urban model combining modern residential areas with commercial, service, and investment activities, wishing all involved continued success in advancing Bahrain’s real estate sector.
For his part, Mr. Abdul Hakim Yaqoub Al Khayyat expressed his deep pride in the Deputy Prime Minister’s visit, appreciating His Excellency’s ongoing interest in the real estate sector and support for developers in achieving positive results that reinforce comprehensive development and strengthen the national economy.
