The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Bahraini woman in her thirties to life imprisonment and fined her BD5,000 after she was found guilty of resuming drug trafficking from her apartment following her release from prison in 2024, where she had served time for a similar offense.

Nine individuals convicted of drug use in connection with the case were each sentenced to one year in prison and fined BD1,000.

According to case details, the woman turned her residence into a hub for distributing narcotics, selling drugs directly to customers or by tossing packets from her window.

Raid

Acting on confidential intelligence, anti-narcotics officers raided the apartment and seized heroin, hashish, and methamphetamine packaged for sale.

Nine buyers were arrested and admitted purchasing drugs from the defendant, with prices ranging between BD5 and BD15.

Some said she had even initiated contact with them by phone.

The Public Prosecution charged the woman with trafficking heroin and methamphetamine and using her home as a venue for drug activity, while the other defendants were charged with possession for personal consumption.
