A business partnership between two women to establish a beauty salon has escalated into a forgery case now before the Bahraini courts.

According to case files, one partner allegedly exploited the electronic signature system without the knowledge of her co-partner, appointing herself as manager of the commercial register and granting her Asian husband full signing authority.

The matter came to light in 2024 when the victim discovered her access to the “Sijilat” commercial registry platform had been blocked.

Upon inquiry with the relevant ministry, she found a forged authorization bearing her falsified signature, which added the husband as an authorised signatory.

Fabricated document

A second fabricated document also appointed the accused wife as manager of the register.

Investigations revealed that the wife had used her electronic key to upload the forged documents.

The husband admitted during questioning that his wife was behind the submissions.

Collusion

The Public Prosecution charged the couple with forgery and the use of forged documents during 2023–2024, alleging collusion with an unidentified individual to fabricate meeting minutes that falsely appointed the wife as manager and the husband as signatory.
