A horse sank into clay at Nurana Coast yesterday, sparking new complaints from Jid Al Haj residents to the Northern Municipal Council.
Residents, joined by Ibrahim Khalil, deputy chairman of the Jid Al Haj Charity, contacted the council’s chairman, Dr Seyed Shubbar Al Wadaei, to report the case.
They said similar incidents have been filed with the council before. People living near the spot said the clay poses a danger to children. They fear a child could step into the soft ground, sink and be hard to reach in time.
The callers asked for urgent steps, including a fast-tracked proposal to the responsible body and a practical, engineering plan to remove the hazard at Nurana Coast.
The council told residents it is following the matter and will press for a workable f ix.
