Ministry of Education Announces School and Bus Timings for Students

The Ministry of Education has announced the official school timings for students in government schools for the 2025/2026 academic year, along with the schedules for school bus arrivals at designated stops, ahead of the new school year starting tomorrow, Sunday.

According to the schedules released by the ministry, classes for all grade levels will begin at 7:05 AM, with dismissal times varying by stage. For primary school students, the school day ends at 12:35 PM; for intermediate school, at 1:15 PM; and for secondary school students, at 1:45 PM. The same timings apply to both morning and evening sessions in technical and vocational education.

In religious institutes, primary school classes will also finish at 12:35 PM, while intermediate and secondary students will have classes until 1:45 PM.

Regarding school bus timings in the morning, the ministry specified that primary and intermediate students should be at bus stops by 6:10 AM, secondary students by 5:55 AM, and technical, vocational, and religious institute students by 5:45 AM.

The ministry also shared the work schedules for teaching and administrative staff. In primary schools (both first and second cycles), the school day ends at 12:45 PM, and in intermediate schools at 1:30 PM. The same applies to schools that combine primary and intermediate levels. In religious institutes, staff working with intermediate and secondary students will finish at 2:00 PM. For secondary-level technical and advanced education, the morning session ends at 2:00 PM, while the evening session concludes at 7:30 PM.

These arrangements reflect the ministry’s commitment to ensuring a smooth start to the academic year while providing a safe and organized environment for students, teachers, and school staff alike.
