Kurdistan endorses Bahrain model

Bahrain’s role as a regional model for youth empowerment has been reinforced with fresh international recognition, after a visiting delegation from the Kurdistan Foundation praised the Kingdom’s flagship ‘Youth City 2030’ project during a tour yesterday.
The Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, said the city represents a pioneering and distinctive regional model for training young people, sharpening their skills, and preparing them to become leaders of the future. She added that the growing interest shown by officials and visiting delegations from around the world reflects the success of Bahrain’s youth policies and its position as a source of inspiration regionally and internationally.

Dr. Yara Hassan Barzanji, Director of Programs and Partnerships at the Kurdistan Foundation, described Youth City 2030 as a pioneering and distinguished initiative that contributes effectively to preparing new generations and equipping them with practical skills. She highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise, stressing that Bahrain’s youth experience is worthy of appreciation and serves as a model to be studied.
During their tour, the delegation was briefed on the mission, objectives and diverse programs of the city, which include the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Centre, the Science and Technology Centre, the Arts and Culture Centre, the Health and Sports Centre, and the Media and Entertainment Centre.

Inspiring youth platforms
The Minister noted that the city also hosts entrepreneurship projects and provides continuous support to innovative youth initiatives, alongside volunteer-driven efforts that contribute to the management of its many activities. She said such initiatives reflect the spirit of giving and belonging among Bahraini youth.
Dr. Barzanji added that the Kurdistan Foundation was keen to witness firsthand the innovative programs and initiatives offered, as well as the Ministry’s commitment to developing youth skills in all fields. She expressed confidence that the visit, which also included direct discussions with the Minister, would pave the way for new partnerships in youth work and enhance opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise.
