SCW Anniversary Celebrates Progress

The annual anniversary of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), observed on August 22, has been described as a national occasion to celebrate the achievements of Bahraini women.
MP Dr. Maryam Al Dhaen said the SCW, created through the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, transformed women’s empowerment from individual efforts into a comprehensive, institutional model grounded in planning and future readiness.
She noted that continued support from His Majesty, along with the government led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, helped elevate Bahraini women’s presence locally and internationally.
Exceptional momentum
Al Dhaen added that the leadership of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa gave the SCW exceptional momentum, producing national strategies and initiatives that strengthened women’s roles in every sector.
She said Bahrain’s experience goes beyond participation to embedding gender balance and equal opportunities as strategic choices.
