The Al Mawasim Hajj and Umrah Campaign launched its media campaign for the 1447 Hijri Hajj season on Saturday evening with a public event at Seef Mall’s Cinema Hall 10.
The gathering drew a mix of prominent personalities, journalists, online contributors, and those with a strong interest in religious affairs.
Among those present were Dr Abdulrahman Hashem Shalli, general supervisor of Centre 99 at Al Bait Guests Company for the pilgrims of Bahrain’s Hajj mission, and MP Abdulwahid Abdulaziz Qarata.
Also in attendance were invited guests and several pilgrims who had appeared in the campaign’s documentary Perfect Score.
The evening opened with a short welcome, followed by the screening of the film.
It followed a group of pilgrims from their preparations through to the rites themselves.
The audience responded warmly to its moving scenes and vivid footage.
It also showed the level of support provided throughout, from accommodation to daily guidance.
A brief ceremony was held to recognise journalists, campaign staff and social media users who had helped share last year’s work with the public.
Speaking at the event, Jassim Abul, who leads the campaign, said this media effort was part of a wider plan to improve what is offered this year. The aim, he said, is to make the process easier for pilgrims and ensure they feel safe and well looked after.
