The Bangladesh Embassy in Bahrain brought essential services closer to its community by organizing a mobile consular camp at the Sabika Al-Ansari Multipurpose Hall in Isa Town on Saturday.
The event, which ran throughout the afternoon, aimed to assist Bangladeshi expatriates with consular and welfare services while raising awareness about local laws, traffic regulations, workers’ rights, and general health care, particularly during the summer.
The camp was led by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E. Md. Rais Hasan Sarower, ndc, and moderated by Counsellor and Head of Chancery, Mr. A.K.M. Mohiuddin Kayes. Representatives from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) – Bahrain, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), and the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) also joined the initiative to offer guidance to the community.
Among the key speakers were IOM Bahrain Chief H.E. Aishath Ihma Shareef, LMRA Partnership & Outreach Director Mr. Fahad AbdulAziz Al Binali, and NPRA officials Captain Naila Issa Al Jassim and Mr. Nassar Abdul Qader Al Balushi. They addressed the community with advice on residency procedures, legal compliance, and migrant worker support.
Throughout the day, Bangladeshi residents from Isa Town, Zayed Town, Salmabad, Jid Ali, and nearby areas were able to access services such as passport renewals, birth registrations, legal support, Wage Earners’ Welfare Board membership, and free medical check-ups in partnership with a local private clinic.
Ambassador Sarower personally met community members, listened to their concerns, and provided on-the-spot guidance. He expressed gratitude to the participating Bahraini authorities and IOM for their support, noting that the Embassy will continue to hold similar outreach programs in areas with large Bangladeshi populations.
Many attendees praised the camp for making essential services more accessible and appreciated the Embassy’s continued efforts to support the Bangladeshi community in Bahrain.
