Jail terms of eight upheld in riot case
Eight defendants, who were convicted in a tyre-burning case, have had their jail terms upheld. Five of them were earlier given three years in prison, while the rest received only one year in prison. The defendants were accused of being part of a mob, who rioted in Dar Kulaib, blocking a road by setting tyres alight.
They were eventually dispersed by police officers, who removed the tyres and opened the road for traffic. The eight were arrested after detectives found they were involved in the incident.
