Earlier today, two Gulf Air planes arrived at Bahrain International Airport from Turkmenistan, carrying 350 citizens who had been assisted in leaving the Islamic Republic of Iran. The returnees were warmly received by teams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Bahrain Airport Services, and Gulf Air. They underwent health screenings and received full logistical support upon arrival.

In addition, 198 citizens arrived by land after the Ministry arranged for buses to transport them from the city of Mashhad, Iran, back to Bahrain. The Ministry also coordinated with Bahrain’s embassies in Kuwait, Iraq, and Oman to bring home more citizens through various land border crossings.

In the Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain’s embassy received families returning from Bandar Abbas, in coordination with the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, citizens traveling overland from Iran passed through Iraq using the Shalamcheh crossing, while others entered Kuwait via the Abdali border.

Special thanks were also extended to the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan for helping facilitate cross-border travel.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to bringing back all remaining citizens wishing to return home, pledging to streamline all necessary procedures through close coordination with Bahrain’s embassies and officials in partner countries.
