Three Children Fight for Life After Parents Killed in Devastating Saar Crash
The devastating impact of a tragic car accident that occurred in the early hours of last Friday continues to weigh heavily on the Bahraini community. The crash claimed the lives of husband and wife Ahmed Ibrahim (40) and Fatima Abbas (36) at the scene, leaving their three young children critically injured and fighting for survival.
According to a relative of the family, the children were rushed from the site of the accident to the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital in critical condition. The relative described the situation as extremely difficult and emotionally overwhelming.
The couple’s 12-year-old daughter has reportedly passed the danger stage after undergoing a complex surgery, during which metal rods were implanted to stabilize severe fractures in both legs. She remains under close medical observation.
However, the condition of her two younger brothers—Abdulaziz (7) and Youssef (9)—remains dire. Both boys are currently in a coma due to head trauma and internal bleeding.
"Abdulaziz’s condition is the most concerning, as he suffers from a severe brain hemorrhage," the family member revealed. "Youssef briefly regained consciousness and complained of a burning sensation in his legs, but soon slipped back into a coma."
The tragedy has sent shockwaves throughout Bahrain, sparking a wave of prayers and solidarity for the young survivors. The incident has also reignited urgent discussions on the need to improve road safety measures, particularly on secondary roads where such fatal accidents often occur.
As the nation mourns, the family's loved ones remain hopeful and place their faith in God for the children’s recovery.
