Women’s Research Centre at RUW Holds Inaugural Advisory Board Meeting

Royal University for Women (RUW) Women’s Research Centre held its inaugural Advisory Board meeting, bringing together distinguished leaders known as pioneers in their fields of advancing women's roles across various sectors in Bahrain and beyond. The Board includes Ms. Afnan Rashid Al Zayani, Ms. Mona Yousif Almoayyed, Ms. Feryal Abdullah Nass, Ms. Maryam Alarayedh, Ms. Aysha Abdullah Mutaywea, and Ms. Sabeeka Abdullah Alshamlan.

Chaired by Professor Reyad Hamzah, RUW President, the meeting showcased the Centre’s achievements in research on entrepreneurship, sustainable development, diplomacy, education, health, and law. Strategic partnerships and collaborations initiated by the Centre were also highlighted, reinforcing its mission to create a dynamic research environment. Guided by the distinguished members of the Advisory Board, the Women’s Research Centre stands as a testament to RUW’s commitment to supporting research excellence and advancing women's empowerment.

The Advisory Board offered valuable insights into enhancing the Centre's research and community engagement and congratulated the Centre on these significant initiatives. Discussions included the successful RUW Conference on Women and Society, held under the distinguished patronage of the Supreme Council for Women (May 11–12, 2025), which featured global experts and prominent Bahraini figures who engaged in impactful research and policy discussions.

Dr. Christelle Comair, Head of the Women’s Research Centre emphasized the Centre’s mission to advance women’s studies through research, training, and partnerships, celebrating Bahrain’s legacy in this field. She expressed gratitude to the Advisory Board for their strategic insights. RUW remains committed to fostering research excellence and supporting an academic and regional environment where women can excel.
