A disturbing voice note in which a young girl claims she and her three sisters were sexually abused has triggered a formal investigation, Public Prosecution confirmed yesterday.
The clip, widely shared on social media, features the child describing what she says she endured along with her siblings.
The Prosecution said that five earlier complaints had already been lodged by the girls’ father against their mother, covering similar allegations.
Both the mother and the man accused of molesting the children were questioned and placed in custody while inquiries continue.
In the voice note, the girl introduces herself as one of four sisters and describes a household marked by fear and anxiety.
She claims their mother brought a man into their lives who abused them while they were still young, and says he later threatened and pressured her into silence.
The girl alleges that their mother was aware of what was happening but did not intervene.
Distress She adds that one sister attempted to take her own life as a result of the distress they endured.
Statements have also been taken from the father and the children.
Prosecutors are working through various strands of evidence, including spoken accounts, physical findings and technical assessments, in an effort to piece together what happened and why.
